POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Herbalife Sports Performance Dietitian will lead the implementation and data analysis of a sports performance program to promote recovery, enhance performance, and develop the nutritional literacy of selected professional athletes. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Herbalife Sports Performance Dietitian will manage the sport performance program including but not limited to:
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Work to develop and present nutrition education curriculum, based on the Herbalife Nutrition Philosophy.
• Oversee supplementation and recovery nutrition following all governing bodies banned substance rules.
• Manage recipe development and food service in conjunction with the team chef
• Develop education aids, training guides, and participant materials
• Conduct and facilitate education programs
• Conduct nutrition consultations
• Effectively communicate athlete nutrition needs, supplement recommendations, recovery strategies, etc.
• Hydration testing.
• Body composition testing (must be familiar with BodPod, DEXA, BIA and skin folds).
• Data collection and tracking
• Data Analysis
• Program Management and logistics
• Participate in Herbalife events as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
• Excellent communication, presentation, and counseling skills
• Ability to accurately measure height, and body weight
• Ability to accurately assess body composition (body mass, body fat, and muscle mass)
• Ability to accurately assess and evaluate energy balance
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Excellent time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills
• Competence with nutrient analysis, word processing, presentation software and statistical analysis software
• Compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
• Knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies: e.g., National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), regarding banned drugs and restricted substances
• Knowledge of measurements of resting metabolic rate, energy expenditure, VO2max, and lactate threshold.
• Ability to communicate information & excite enthusiasm/instill credibility about our products & health with the athletes.
• Strong customer and results orientation
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work weekends and after hours on occasion.
Experience:
• 1-2 years demonstrated experience in nutrition counseling, program implementation and food service preferably with an emphasis on sports nutrition. Experience within a Professional Sports Team is preferred.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Nutrition, Exercise Physiology or related field.
• Registered Dietitian
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters' degree in Clinical Nutrition, Exercise Physiology or related field.
• Registered and licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
• Background in Sports Performance products.
• Background in Data Analytics
• 3-5 years demonstrated experience as a dietitian and/or nutritionist
