Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

 

The Supervisor, Environmental, Health & Safety serves as a resource to ensure all environmental, health and safety expectations are met as directed for their respective U.S. designated site. This individual provides leadership, coordination, and technical expertise in all areas of EHS compliance to achieve excellence. This position will have the accountability for establishing reliable methods for improving safety, health, and environmental performance.  Furthermore, this candidate will work with all area locations to ensure safe working conditions and interact with team members as well as management to continually reinforce safe work practices while encouraging positive safety behavior.  The EHS Supervisor will sustain a culture where safety, health and environmental issues are overriding values in all activities and in which every employee assumes responsibility for safety and assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

 

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

 

  • Monitors, assists, and maintains Safety, Environmental and Health Programs
  • Conduct, oversee and assist with Safety and First Responder related meetings
  • Work with and assist HR on workers compensation (WC) issues and claims
  • Performs and administers all Accident/Incident Reports and Investigations
  • Issues and documents Safety Violations and Corrective Actions as required
  • Completes inspections of machinery, inventory and equipment related to Safety, Health and Operations
  • Assists management to include, but not limited to, the formulation and documentation of EHS related policies, procedures, forms, and SOPs
  • Assists in audits required by FDA, EPA, OSHA, Fire Marshall, ISO, and Risk Lost Prevention
  • Maintains any hazardous waste accumulation and disposal records
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in developing and communicating effective training presentations.
  • Ability to schedule and keep up with a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining clear communication and objectives throughout the team.
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to adhere to tight and overlapping deadlines.
  • Strong customer results orientated.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Efficient with computer proficiencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member.

 

Experience:

  • 5 years previous experience in the EHS industry
  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in a leadership role

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree; may consider candidate with additional 4 years of proven experience in lieu of degree
  • OSHA 10-and-30 hours training certification
  • OSHA 501 & 511 training

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • MESH (Manager Environmental Safety & Health)
  • First Responder (First Aid, CPR, AED certified)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

 

  • Both the manufacturing areas and the offices are clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated and noise levels are considered low to moderate
