Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The QA Inspector I will be responsible for all incoming finished product received at Hagerstown, MD Distribution Center (HADC), which will be inspected and released based on Herbalife’s specifications. The Quality Assurance Inspector I will be responsible to pull all reserve samples as needed. In addition, the Quality Assurance Inspector I will be responsible to review all Certificate of Analysis of products produced by our Contract Manufacturers, which need to be documented and properly stored.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • Perform incoming inspection of products receive at HADC and use the Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) to implement QA procedures.
  • Ensure that the physical inspection of finished products received are in conformance with Herbalife’s specifications.
  • Review Certificate of Analysis to ensure that all test results of released product are in conformance with Herbalife’s specifications.
  • Create non-conformance reports (NCRs) for products that do not meet Herbalife’s specifications.
  • Coordinate processes to ensure that any rejected product is quarantined and remove from receiving/affected location and notify the appropriate departments via email.
  • Document and pull reserve samples of each lot of product after inspection.
  • Implement line clearance inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection of finished products in the rework area.
  • Create inspection logs of incoming finished products using Product Lifecycle Management software (AGILE) as well as in Excel format. Perform transaction activities in Oracle during the inspection process.
  • Ensure that Certificates of Analysis are saved and uploaded in the Quality Assurance Portal
  • Perform Material Review Inspections of Returned Dietary Supplements using Returned Material Authorization (RMA) software.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

  • Be a team performer and be able to communicate in a timely and effective manner with all staff levels and executive management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as well as teamwork collaboration; aligns work with people.
  • Organize workload for efficient execution.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic typing skills
  • Be able to interact with customers, vendors, visitors, and other dignitaries with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Be able to solve practical problems and carry out responsibility under general supervision.  

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Quality Inspector or Quality Assurance position
  • Knowledge on AQL procedures

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a dietary supplement, food supplements or cosmetic industry.
  • Knowledge of line clearance and in-process check procedures.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Prior experience with the Agile system (Oracle based)
  • 4+ years’ experience in a Quality Inspector or Quality Assurance role
  • pH testing equipment/Calibration
  • Forklift Certification
