Overview

THE ROLE:

The Warehouse Operator I is responsible for operating standup reach and sit-down forklifts to accurately receive, ship, transfer, and transport product within the manufacturing area and warehouse safely and efficiently. The Warehouse Operator I will supply and replenish raw materials and packaging components to the packaging lines and locations in a timely manner to ensure production is not interrupted. The Warehouse Operator I will assist with computer activities related to receiving, shipping, cycle counts and inventory control.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Operate standup reach and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in a safe and appropriate manner more than 50% of the time.
  • Assist with pulling, staging, and supplying packaging components and raw materials to the packaging lines and locations in a timely manner. This includes accurately making and recording the material transfer within the inventory management system.
  • Assist with the receiving process for all materials which includes truck off loading, matching received materials against packing lists and open orders, and using desk top computers, inventory software, Microsoft office and outlook.
  • Assist with the shipping process by helping with the inventory scanning of materials, and the development of Bill of Lading (BOL) by providing pallet count and weights of the shipment.
  • Accurately move and record material transfers within the warehouse and manufacturing areas and provide real-time updates to the inventory management system with the use of the radio frequency scanner.
  • Move all material within the warehouse and manufacturing area in a manner to prevent damage, and immediately report all discovered damage of material to supervision.
  • Re-palletize raw materials and components from wood to plastic pallets in preparation for production.
  • Assist in the cycle counts as required.
  • Accurately move and record material/products scheduled for physical disposal.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, organized and safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Detail oriented with the ability to carry out responsibilities under general supervision
  • Ability to respond effectively and positively in a rapidly changing manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with warehouse associates and other
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to operate equipment safely
  • Customer service focused assisting other departments and forklift operators as required
  • General knowledge of Oracle, MS Outlook, Excel and Word, and RF scanners

Experience:

  • Must have clean driving record
  • 1+ years' experience in warehouse operations and operating standup reach and sit-down forklifts
  • Good working knowledge of warehousing operations as it relates to the specific functions of product movement, inventory systems, and forklift operations
  • Experienced in the use of radio frequency bar code scanners
  • Practical knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word

Education:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Oracle, SAP, JDE or similar
  • Prior experience in an FDA and cGMP regulated environment
  • OSHA Forklift Certification
