Overview

 

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: 

 

The Co-Op Engineer will work onsite  daily at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC from Jan. 2024 - June 2024. Will gain extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of powder, tea, and liquid manufacturing operations.  Work and partner with various other engineers in learning how to run and implement cost savings & equipment engineering projects.  Engineers included are: Continuous Improvement, Equipment & Process, Manufacturing, & Quality Engineers. 

Will collorabate with our systems engineers and learn how to extract & analyze data quickly. 

 

Systems include: EBR, SCADA, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), Agile, & Power BI.  Learn how to build & design elaborate reporting dashboards to support operational needs.  Learn the aspects of how to control cost through production variances relative to all of our operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Participate in operational review meetings and daily reporting cadences.  Learn how to use world-wide industrial manufacturing problem-solving tools and techniques to resolve root causes within the business.  Tools include: A3 & Basic DMAIC Problem-solving.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

 

  • Conduct Time Studies in both manufacturing and packaging operations
  • Build Standard Work instructions in connection with time studies performed.
  • Learn & Champion Timer Pro Time Study Software Program
  • Partner with On-the-Job trainers to develop cohesive standard work in connection with our SOPs.
  • Datamine & resolve daily reporting inaccuracies | Construct and Build Efficiency & Yield Reports
  • Help build and establish Engineering Standards for Line Speeds, Centerline Standards, OEE & Manufacturing Efficiencies. 
  • Support Manufacturing Data Platform: Includes building downtime & efficiency reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Skills:

  • The Co-Op Engineer must be able to work onsite daily (Monday - Friday) at our facility in Winston-Salem, NC for the duration of the Co-Op assignment from early January - early June 2024.

    Analytical skills applying various continuous improvement tools.
  • Detail-Oriented, self-starter, focused, high-energy, motivated, finisher, results driven & team oriented.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, Powder-point)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to integrity and improvement.
  • Ability to investigate and interpret, 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and prioritize workload for effective implementation.
  • Great teammate able to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.

 

 

Experience:

  • 0+ Experience 

 

 Education: 

  • Enrolled and pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 2.75
  • Completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies.
